Meet Eden

    Taanishi! Hello!

My name is Eden Gepner-Bourgeois and I am the Indigenous Student Ambassador for McGill University.

I am Cree-Metis with my family originating from the Red River District on my mother's side, as well as Jewish on my father's. I grew up in Toronto, Ontario and moved to Montreal to go to McGill nearly 2 years ago, and am currently pursuing a degree in English Literature and Indigenous Studies in hopes of attending Law School in Canada shortly after I finish.

As an Indigenous person coming from Toronto, I was very involved with the community in any way I could be. Finding my grounding within the Indigenous community in Montreal could not have been done without the resources that McGill has to offer Indigenous students such as First Peoples' House, which allows for Indigenous students to meet each other and stay connected their culture while in school. In my free time, I love to watch movies and play/learn musical instruments. I am also involved in the many McGill Intramural sports which keep me active both physically and in the McGill student community.

My main role and motivation as the Indigenous Student Ambassador is to make both current and prospective students feel welcomed and well informed with their visit or stay here at McGill, and I hope to continue to do this throughout my years in study.

Pee-piihtikweek! Ni-miyeeyihtenaan ee-waapamitaahk! Welcome! We are happy to see you!
